Grief is love that has nowhere to go, and God does not rush you through it. He is near — not distant, not disappointed — collecting every tear. Beauty for ashes is a slow gift, but it is a promised one.
Prayer
Lord, You are close to the broken-hearted. Hold the pieces of my heart today. Comfort me where words cannot reach, and let me feel that I am not alone in this loss. Give me grace for this hour only. Amen.
What to do today
- Let yourself cry without apology — mourning is blessed, not weak.
- Keep one small daily anchor: a walk, a meal, a psalm.
- Write a letter to the one you lost, or to God, and keep it.
- Ask one person to check on you weekly for the next month.
